About Harah
My work is inspired by detritus, entropy, a failed order visible on the surface. It calls up remnants of ancient facture and centuries of labor, e.g. Herculaneum, Venice, Detroit. Or an archeology, city map, aerial view, worn-out field, grimey edge. Sometimes we see the plan, sometimes the section, a kind of drive-by architecture thru windows, doors, pools. I'm not performing restitution so much as lifting the edge of a curtain, sweeping the dirt from a paving stone, a piazza.
